So when we first found someone who could develop the idea in Vancouver, it seemed like an awesome idea at the time. In my head, I thought this meant we could do everything super close to home and be able to develop the ideas faster, as well as subsequent products. Little did I know how wrong I was going to be on this...
It has been almost a year since we first started working on the idea. We did work on a ton of stuff throughout the year, but for the last half of 2023, nothing has been happening. We picked the wrong year to start development with our current manufacturer. Throughout the last half of the year, they have been going through a ton of internal challenges and changes, which has forced this small underwear project onto a back burner. Leading to a lack of excitement for the whole thing, as well as a tremendous amount of waiting for something relatively simple.
I have two options right now: to continue waiting and hoping that once our current partner is dialed in, we can move along much faster or restart this whole process, burn a bridge, and try all over again somewhere else.
Neither of those options is the best choice, but if I sit back and look at the whole thing objectively, I know it's going to be better to be patient and keep waiting because at some point or another, we will have our first boxer brief, and from there, we should be able to move a little bit faster with improvements and production.
One day I want to look back at these simple blog posts and laugh about how I had to wait to build the best men's underwear company...
